Don't forget to be yourself!

I love this! Learning your own personal style is KEY to making your home feel like YOUR home. Find it, and embrace it, no matter what other people say.

DIY: Table Revamp

I'm so excited! I found a great table at the Brisbane Antique market in Teneriffe the other day for $45! I had to buy it... All it needed was a good scrub (with some sandpaper!) and some paint! I decided on a peacock blue/navy with a bright pink border and am going to use it as a desk. I can't wait! Here is the progress so far...

After the first round of spray paint... Excuse the mess in the garage!

Loving the color so far, can't wait for the finished product!

PS...Success!

I forgot to post that I FINALLY, after many failed attempts, made the hex bracelet. Just in time for the Foo Fighters concert this past weekend! xx

Sick Day

I'm a bit under the weather today, so I'm curling up under a down comforter (I know its summer here, but it makes me feel better!) having a tea, and watching movies today (and maybe stalking my favorite blogs). This picture makes me happy. Hope everyone has a good day. Xx A

Gold Rush

I've always preferred gold to silver, however I am in gold overload at the moment! I love neutral colors with metallic accents, and right now is no exception! Gotta love a bit of glam... perfect for the holidays!

Hex it up!

So i've woken up this Saturday morning at 5:30am... Dogs are up ready to play and husband is fast asleep. Note to anyone getting a dog: Once they are up, there's no going back. Unless they are more 'mature' in age, they need to go out, be fed, etc etc as soon as they wake up. SO, I'm up. Ohh and did I mention it's pouring rain??!! SO, what to do. 1) Coffee. Strong coffee. 2) Put some laundry in (It's been a while) 3) Feed the dogs, and make sure they have gone outside so they don't have an 'accident in the house' and finally 4) Entertain myself quietly until the husband wakes from his deep sleep. SO... I've been trying to make these for a while, and wanted to share with you. I think they are so cool, and such an easy and afforadable way to add a bit of heavy metal glam to your wardrobe.

{Macrame': Square knot} sting and hexnut bracelet

If you go the the linked website above, they have a great tutorial on how to make them. I'm still practicing, but I'm slowly but surely getting there. I can't wait until I've mastered the process! I think these would make great christmas presents for friends, and they are so affordable! The whole bracelet cost about $5 to make (plus time and a little bit of frustration until you get the process down!). Let me know if any of you have mastered the skill, and if you have any tips to share!

Another great online tutorial here

My inspiration to keep trying!
If you get sick of trying, here are some for sale for $5! Bargain!

Wall to wall

So, if I had it my way, every house would contain at least one room of wall to wall seagrass, sisal, or jute. I love the smell of it, the texture of it, the subtleness (or sometimes not so subtleness) of it, and most of all, the look of it. Some people shy away from it because they don't like the feel of it, but trust me, it is worth every penny! And... soon you will yearn for that little massage you get every time you walk barefoot on the new addition! Here are some examples of pieces of natural floor coverings that I love, and rooms that are to die for. Enjoy xx A
