Traveling Outfits

Since opening my new business, I have been flying back and forth quite a bit. I've become some what of a professional in packing basic, neutral pieces that can be worn in different ways {and sometimes multiple times} for my 'traveling outfits'. Because I always wear a lot of jewellery, everything else is usually simple, clean, and ultimately neutral.

Here are some looks I adore.

A fabulous day to night look that won't take up too much room packing
Obsessed with her 'tough-vibe-while-wearing-a-pleated-skirt'
 thing she has going on

comfortable, effortless, and always chic.
You go on with your stylish self.

Blair from Atlanta-Pacific blog always looks amazing,
and this is no exception. The clashing patterns kept in neutral
tones work every time.
LOVE it.

Ladies and gentlemen, my favourite look of them all.
Seriously, this is gorgeous.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday...

He Who Seeks Beauty...

This past weekend my husband and I watched a documentary on Bill Cunningham, and have not stopped talking about it since. Bill Cunningham New York is a cinematic profile of the famous fashion photographer, giving us all an inside look at his peculiarly unknown life. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favour and rent it or buy it now. It will change your life.

The attitude Bill has is incredible, and really made me think about they way I approached other people in my life, not only in my personal life, but in business too. He truly loves what he does, his work is his life, and he has done it in such a simplistic, honest way.

At the end of the movie Bill said something that has stuck with me ever sense, and therefore was the inspiration for this monday post. In an acceptance speech for an award he received in Paris, Bill said "He who seeks beauty will find it."

"He who seeks beauty will find it."
{just thought I'd repeat it for you, in case you didn't hear me.}

That's my inspiration for the week, probably for the rest of my life.
I hope to find even half the beauty this man has uncovered in his lifetime.

Hope you all have a lovely start to your week! Happy Monday!

Anna Spiro for Porter's Paints

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Anna Spiro's new {and GORGEOUS!} wallpaper line for Porter's Paints. It was a fabulous night filled with gorgeous colour, candle light, mini champagne bottles, fresh flowers, and neon ribbon. And packed to the brim with absolutely lovely people.

Thanks Anna for the wonderful night, and congratulations on such a huge accomplishment!
One of the front windows in Anna's store, Black & Spiro. Filled with gorgeous goodies, including her 'Rosey Posey Trellis' wallpaper for Porter's Paints.
To die for.

A gorgeous chair in the front window displaying Anna's signature love of colour.
How cute are the little gift bags by the way? The personal touch of Anna's signature in hot pink paint is no surprise...she nails the little details every time!
Another front window, showing all the gorgeous little pieces in Black & Spiro. My favorite part? The easel Anna used to display her inspiration behind the wallpaper designs... Her mother's garden, childhood friends, and a sweet pea trellis.
A corner in the back room of Anna's gorgeous store, displaying the 'Higgledy Piggledy Stripe' wallpaper.
I could have curled up on that ouch and never left.

Another corner of the gorgeous back room in Black & Spiro, just bursting to the brim with colour.

One thing I love so much about Anna's store is it feels like someone lives there. This wall is no exception, with the gorgeous potted succulents, mis-matched pots, and beautiful old books.

The back room, filled with candle light and gorgeous flowers

The 'bedroom' in Black & Spiro where Anna's 'Round And Round The Garden' wallpaper is on display. I must admit, I think anyone would just die to have a bedroom like this. And those fabulous lamps...

If you are in Brisbane, do yourself a favour and stop by Black & Spiro to see her fabulous new line in person. Otherwise, click on over to Porter's Paint's website to view the range there.

Hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a gorgeous weekend! I'll be dreaming of sweet pea trellises and rose gardens I think...

Lee Broom: The Crystal Bulb

While perusing the June/July issue of Belle Magazine, I have stumbled across one of the most elegant lightbulbs I've ever seen, the crystal bulb by Lee Broom. Sit back and enjoy it's beauty.

Blue & White

I'm taking on a huge subject here, but at some point, I have to tackle the effortlessly chic, gorgeous, and always in style colour combination of blue and white. It's classic, easy to do, and never dates. And always looks fabulous. Here are *some* of my favourite looks.

I'm a HUGE fan of collections, and think everyone should find what they
love, and start collecting! It makes such a GREAT display in any cabinet,
bookshelves, or hutch.
And this collection is no exception.

Peacock blue console tables never did any harm...

I'm dying over everything in this room.
I love that shade of powder blue in amongst the eclectic mix of beautifulness that happening here.
Just fabulous.

Another view of this room, if only I knew where it was in this great big world of ours!
I love the more modern, edgy take on the blue and white combo here.
This room is killer.

From a local store in Brisbane, Magnolia Interiors.
I just adore the contrast between the wallpaper and the lampshades.
And I must get a clam shell so I can fill it with pineapples!
So adorable.

Loving the tribal feel from these cushions, and the simplicity of the space.
Artwork by the fabulous Kerri Shipp doesn't hurt either.
This post was inspired by the FABULOUS new line of wallpaper by Anna Spiro of Black & Spiro.
I'm so thrilled to be attending the opening for her new wallpaper line for Porter's Paints on Thursday night! In the meantime, her Rosy Posey Trellis wallpaper in 'Ginger Jar Blue' is officially on my wish list.
You can find it on the back cover of this month's real living {australian edition}. I'll be sure to take lots of photos, but here's a sneak peek at her gorgeous line. How divine!

Put your best foot forward

OK, so I confess. I'm a shoe addict. So much so that I had to go to a podiatrist yesterday and have 'surgery' on one of my toes from all the painful shoes I try and wear. And my solution to this problem? Well, more shoes, of course!

First requirement,
Comfort:

Meet the Miista Earla loafer, my latest {and quite affordable} obsession.
Available at the iconic for $95.85 AUD
OMG YES.

Senso Elite
available through the iconic for $129
So now we have a problem, because I want them both.
Neon never did any harm.

Betts Loafer, how sik are these?!
available through the iconic for a mere $79.99
I have a black pair like this already, but... a back-up perhaps?

Zu Oracle
available from the iconic for $120.00
These are the ones I have and they are FABULOUS!

Windsor Smith's Diana
put some pony into your life
available through the iconic for $129.95
Therapy's Rubix
Seriously, they have the word 'therapy'. Enough said.
available through the iconic for $39.95
They are practically free!
Rebecca Minkoff's Uma
Holy neon fabulousness.
available through the iconic for $195.00
I think the Senso Elite are the winners.

Best part of all this {if you're in Oz...} The Iconic has free overnight shipping, so you can have them the next working day! Even better, if you live in Sydney, you can have them delivered within THREE HOURS. Holy moly, get me to Sydney!

But nothing is going on this left foot of mine for a while...
In the meantime I'll ponder my options and dream of pointy high heels.
Flats for me for a while.
 Boo...

Hope everyone has a lovely Friday.
